  • 1 pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil sub additional 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup shaved, sliced, or slivered almonds

Method
 

  1. Pat the green beans dry. Add the beans and oil to a large skillet. Saute over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic, salt, pepper, brown sugar, and almonds to the skillet.
  3. Saute for 10 minutes or until the green beans are easily pierced with a fork.
  4. Allow the dish to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can add a sprinkle of parmesan cheese or a drizzle of balsamic glaze for extra flavor.
