Ingredients

For the Sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
For the Chicken
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts Cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced For garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Small bowl

Method

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients: honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Set the sauce aside.
  2. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. In a separate bowl, toss the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and flour until lightly coated.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce mixture into the skillet with the garlic. Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly until it thickens, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Toss the chicken in the thickened sauce until every piece is coated evenly.
  7. Remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

You can serve this chicken over rice or noodles if you have them available. If you do not have cornstarch, you can skip it, but the sauce will be thinner.
