Ingredients

Dip Base
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk or heavy cream
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup dry cake mix any flavor, do not use a mix that requires eggs or oil
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer

Method

  1. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until combined.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and milk until the dip reaches a smooth, thick consistency.
  4. Gently fold in the dry cake mix and sprinkles, if using. Mix just until incorporated.
  5. Serve the cake dip immediately with fruit, cookies, or graham crackers for dipping.

Notes

If you prefer a thicker dip, reduce the amount of milk used. If the dip sits for a while, you may need to stir it again before serving.
