Method
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Season the salmon fillets on both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat on the stovetop. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if using skin-on) and sear for 3 to 4 minutes until the skin is crispy.
- Flip the salmon fillets. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.
- While the salmon bakes, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley.
- Remove the salmon from the oven. Spoon the garlic lemon butter sauce evenly over each fillet before serving immediately.
Notes
You can substitute fresh dill for parsley in the sauce for a different flavor profile. If you do not have an oven-safe skillet, sear the salmon in a regular skillet and then transfer it to a baking dish before placing it in the oven.
