  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or ¼ cup more milk
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey or preferred sweetener, use 1-2
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • as needed toppings of choice fruit, nut butter, nuts, seeds, etc.
Flavor Variations

  • 1 Tablespoon peanut butter For Peanut Butter variation
  • 1/4 cup fresh berries For Berry variation, sliced strawberries and blueberries recommended
  • 1 Tablespoon strawberry jam or chia jam For Berry variation

Equipment

  • Jar or storage container with a lid

Method

  1. Add oats, milk, yogurt, maple syrup, chia seeds, vanilla, and sea salt into a jar or storage container with a lid.
  2. Stir all ingredients together.
  3. Place the container in the refrigerator overnight. You can shorten the soak time to 2-4 hours if you are in a rush.
  4. The next morning, remove the lid and stir the oats well. If the mixture seems too thick, add a little more milk to loosen it.
  5. Top with your chosen toppings and eat directly from the jar or pour into a bowl.
  6. For Chocolate Chip: Stir 1 Tablespoon of chocolate chips into the base mixture when prepping. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top before serving.
  7. For Peanut Butter: Stir ½ Tablespoon of peanut butter into the base mixture when prepping. Drizzle the remaining peanut butter on top before serving.
  8. For Berry: Stir 2 Tablespoons of berries into the base mixture when prepping. Top with a layer of jam and the remaining fresh berries before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the base oats and then divide them into four separate containers to create the four variations, adjusting the added ingredients for each portion.
