- Combine milk and lavender buds in a small saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not boil.
- Remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 5 minutes.
- Strain the milk through a fine-mesh sieve into a mug, discarding the lavender buds.
- Stir in honey or maple syrup, if desired.
- Drink warm before bedtime.
