Irresistible Crack Chicken Casserole

This recipe makes a simple and satisfying chicken casserole.

Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 1 block cream cheese 8-ounce, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 package Ranch Seasoning Mix 1-ounce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 pounds chicken cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 8 ounces shell pasta
Toppings
  • 6 slices bacon cooked until crisp and chopped
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese freshly shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese freshly shredded

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Large mixing bowl
  • 9x13 inch baking dish

Method
 

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the chicken pieces in a skillet until fully cooked. Drain any excess liquid.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Ranch Seasoning Mix, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Add the cooked chicken and the cooked pasta to the cream cheese mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  6. Top the casserole evenly with the shredded cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chopped, cooked bacon over the top. Serve warm.

Notes

You can cook the chicken ahead of time to reduce the preparation time.
