Goat Cheese & Honey Bites

These goat cheese and honey bites are a simple and elegant appetizer. They combine the tangy flavor of goat cheese with the sweetness of honey, all on a crisp base.

Ingredients
  

For the Bites
  • 4 oz Goat cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp Honey plus more for drizzling
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper freshly ground
For Serving
  • 12 Crackers or baguette slices toasted
  • 2 tbsp Chopped nuts optional, e.g., walnuts or pecans

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened goat cheese, 2 tablespoons of honey, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Place the crackers or baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  4. Spoon about a teaspoon of the goat cheese mixture onto each cracker.
  5. Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until the goat cheese is slightly softened and warm.
  6. Remove from oven. Drizzle with additional honey and sprinkle with chopped nuts, if using.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

You can prepare the goat cheese mixture ahead of time and assemble the bites just before baking. For a different flavor, try adding a pinch of dried thyme or rosemary to the goat cheese mixture.
