- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken pieces, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add broccoli florets and water to the skillet. Cover and steam for 3-5 minutes, or until broccoli is tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together chicken broth, heavy cream, soy sauce, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and broccoli. Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
- Serve immediately.
