Chicken Broccoli Skillet

A quick and easy chicken and broccoli skillet recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
For the Broccoli
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp water
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken pieces, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add broccoli florets and water to the skillet. Cover and steam for 3-5 minutes, or until broccoli is tender-crisp.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together chicken broth, heavy cream, soy sauce, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and broccoli. Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

You can serve this over rice or pasta if desired.
