Method
- Sift flour and garlic salt into a bowl.
- Rub in the butter until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
- Add the cheese and chives.
- Stir in enough milk and water to make a sticky dough.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
- Knead until the dough is smooth.
- Shape the dough into 4 portions in a bread roll shape.
- Cut 3 slits across the top of each roll.
- Place the rolls on a greased oven tray.
- Brush the top of the rolls with the beaten egg yolk.
- Cook at 190 degrees Celsius / 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cook for 20 to 25 minutes until lightly browned and cooked through.
Notes
These rolls are best served warm shortly after baking.
