- Pat the brisket dry with paper towels. Rub the brisket all over with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Place the seasoned brisket in your slow cooker. Pour the beef broth around the brisket.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the brisket is very tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Carefully remove the brisket from the slow cooker and place it on a baking sheet. Using two forks, shred the brisket.
- In a small bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce and brown sugar. Pour this mixture over the shredded brisket and toss to coat.
- Broil the brisket on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes, or until the edges are caramelized and slightly crispy. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Let the brisket rest for about 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve the caramelized pulled beef brisket on buns, with your favorite sides, or as a topping for nachos.
