Best Orzo Dinner Recipe for Busy Moms

This is a quick and simple orzo pasta dish suitable for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Equipment

  • Large skillet or pot

Method
 

  1. Cook the orzo pasta according to package directions. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. In the same skillet or pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about one minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  4. Stir in the cooked orzo, Parmesan cheese, and milk. Mix well until the cheese is melted and the sauce coats the pasta.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in the fresh parsley.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

You can add a splash more milk if the sauce seems too thick. This recipe is easily doubled for larger families.
