Method
- In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese until it is smooth.
- Add the sifted powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix on low speed until combined, then increase speed to medium and beat until smooth.
- Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping using a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the 1 cup of crumbled Christmas Tree Cakes.
- Cover the bowl and chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Melt the green candy melts according to package directions. Drizzle the melted coating over the top of the chilled dip.
- Immediately sprinkle the rainbow nonpareils, extra crumbled cakes, and miniature marshmallows over the melted coating before it sets.
- Serve the dip cold with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or shortbread cookies.
Notes
If you do not have Christmas Tree Cakes, you can substitute with vanilla wafers mixed with a few drops of green food coloring and some sprinkles for a similar look and texture.
