Best Little Debbie Tree Cake Dip

This recipe makes a sweet dip inspired by the flavor of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes. It is simple to prepare and serves well as a dessert dip.

Ingredients
  

Dip Base
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 cup whipped topping, thawed like Cool Whip
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes crumbled, plus more for topping
Coating and Topping
  • 1/2 cup green candy melts or white chocolate dyed green
  • 1/4 cup rainbow nonpareils
  • 1/4 cup miniature marshmallows

Equipment

  • Electric mixer
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese until it is smooth.
  2. Add the sifted powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix on low speed until combined, then increase speed to medium and beat until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping using a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Fold in the 1 cup of crumbled Christmas Tree Cakes.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Melt the green candy melts according to package directions. Drizzle the melted coating over the top of the chilled dip.
  7. Immediately sprinkle the rainbow nonpareils, extra crumbled cakes, and miniature marshmallows over the melted coating before it sets.
  8. Serve the dip cold with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or shortbread cookies.

Notes

If you do not have Christmas Tree Cakes, you can substitute with vanilla wafers mixed with a few drops of green food coloring and some sprinkles for a similar look and texture.
