Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
Wet Ingredients
  • 1.25 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp melted butter

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Griddle or frying pan
  • Spatula

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Stir in the melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  4. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
  6. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra fluffy pancakes, be careful not to overmix the batter. You can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the wet ingredients for added flavor.
