Balsamic Strawberry Caprese

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pint Strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 8 oz Fresh mozzarella sliced
  • 1 bunch Fresh basil leaves torn
  • 2 tbsp Balsamic glaze store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil extra virgin
  • 1/4 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1/8 tsp Black pepper freshly ground, to taste

Method
 

  1. Arrange the sliced fresh mozzarella and sliced strawberries on a serving platter.
  2. Tuck the torn fresh basil leaves among the mozzarella and strawberries.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic glaze over the salad.
  4. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to your taste.
  5. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a homemade balsamic glaze, simmer 1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until it reduces by half and thickens, about 10-15 minutes. Let it cool before using.
