Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes peeled and cut into fry shapes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Large bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato fries with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the seasoned sweet potato fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding the pan; use two sheets if necessary for crispier results.
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through the cooking time, until they are tender and slightly browned at the edges.
  5. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, you can soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before drying them thoroughly and seasoning. Patting them very dry before adding oil helps them crisp up better.
